Spotlight On Drops Lima!

Guys. I have a new favourite yarn. I am in love with Drops Lima. So far I have knitted up two projects in it and they could not  have gone better. The first was a simple hat in a lovely ribbed designed. I made the Beatrice Beanie by Rowan Yarns for a trip to Germany in December where it was very cold and I am pleased to say it kept me so cosy. After such a great experience knitting the hat with Lima I decided to use it for my husbands anniversary present sweater. I knit the Moby sweater by Petite Knit and it was just perfect for a gorgeous cabled project. Today I just wanted to share a little bit about this gorgeous yarn and why you should use it for your next project!

  1. The Fibre Content – Lima is a mix of wool and alpaca. The wool helps create a stable and strong yarn whilst the alpaca adds a gorgeous soft factor making it really cosy against the skin. Both these fibres are great for warmth making it a good yarn for the colder months and also those of us (me!) who feel the cold all year round! The wool content also helps give structure to the yarn making it the perfect choice for a cabled or textured knit.
  2. The Colours – Lima comes in a huge range of different colours. We currently stock 17 shades and there really is a colour for everyone.

3. The Weight – Lima is a DK yarn making it perfect for so many projects. A lot of the more popular projects online are made with a DK weight yarn and it often seems to be everyones preferred weight to work with.

4. The Price – Lima is just £2.40 a ball making it a really affordable option for a garment quantity. It is also such a bargain for natural fibres and a great beginner yarn for those not wanting to spend too much money as they learn their craft.

I hope this has convinced you to give Drops Lima a go! You can shop it in both our Banbury and Witney stores or online today.
